We're absolutely buzzing to announce that our very own Safy Burton has been named a finalist in the Alternative Hair International Visionary Awards 2026! 💕
But this isn't just any hairdressing event. It's one with an incredible story and an even more important purpose.
What Is the Alternative Hair Show?
The Alternative Hair Show is one of the hairdressing industry's most iconic international events, bringing together some of the world's most talented and creative hair artists.
Known for its spectacular stage performances, extraordinary hairstyles, fashion and artistic expression, it's a celebration of just how creative our industry can be!
Alongside the show, the International Visionary Awards recognise talented hairdressers from around the world, giving them the opportunity to showcase their creativity on an international platform.
And we're incredibly proud that Safy has been recognised as one of this year's finalists!
More Than Just a Hair Show ❤️
What makes this event truly special is the reason it all began.
The Alternative Hair Show was founded in 1983 by Tony and Maggie Rizzo, following the heartbreaking loss of their young son, Valentino, to leukaemia.
They turned their personal tragedy into something extraordinary, bringing the hairdressing industry together to raise money to help fight the disease.
Since then, the event has raised millions of pounds to support leukaemia and blood cancer charities, helping fund vital research and better treatments, and supporting those affected by these illnesses.
It's a beautiful reminder of what can happen when an industry comes together for something bigger than itself.
A Proud Moment for Safy B's Salon 💕
Being recognised internationally for creativity is an incredible achievement, especially for our little independent salon here in Aylesbury!
But knowing that this event is also helping make a difference to children and families affected by leukaemia makes it even more meaningful.
We're so proud to be part of an industry that doesn't just create beautiful hair but also comes together to do something truly amazing. ❤️
